This Pro/Con List is a Poem

If I Talk to Her Tonight

ProCon
she wakes up at 10:30 pmthat’s when I go to bed
I’ll get to hear all about her weekI’ll have to stay up
I’ll just set a few alarms, thenI’ve got work at 8:00 am
she’s doing so well, I’m so gladMy eyes are so dry
she’s settling into FranceI’m settled into bed
her family’s doing well too, I askedIt’s getting hard to read
oh, look, she’s made more art!Pros
I’m so glad I got to see itI missed her so much
and here comes the sunriseI was awake to see the sunrise

A poem about pulling a weekly all-nighter to talk to one of my best friends in the whole world, Kenzi, who is in France on her mission and whose P-day takes place from 10:30 pm to around 2:00 pm the next day for me. If I want to get a chance to talk to her, my window is from 11:00pm to 5:00 am. You’d better believe I’m taking it.

I’ve never regretted staying up.
