The Molten Record

Heaven’s Got the Dinosaurs

Heaven's got the dinosaurs,
This I know is true
'Cause they'll need a home now that they died
And that's just what God would do.

Then one day when I'm dead and gone
Bouncin' on my heels outside deaths doors
God'll open up a big fenced-off world
To let me see those dinosaurs!

I'll get to kiss a T-Rex nose,
And see her walk on two strong legs
Then I'll go and see the oviraptors,
Still sittin' on their eggs

I'll ride up on a Quetzy
(That's the big fella that can fly)
And I'll scratch a trike behind his frill
Like I'd always wanna try

Then I'll make drawings of the lil' ones
Because they often get left out
I'll finally see how a Spino's s'posed to look
Past all the bickering and doubt

In a hundred years, I'll meet them all,
Then go find God when I feel I'm done
And compliment his handiwork
On each and every one

And he'll grab my hand and lead me back
So we can sit 'neath a shady ancient tree
And he'll explain with face aglow,
How he made them all for me.

Let the record show that I’m fully aware that Quetzalcoatlus is a pterosaur, not a dinosaur, but pterosaurs are going to heaven too. (And frankly, they are top of my bucket list for things to ride one day.)
